The Performance Blueprint

The Performance Blueprint is a one-day workshop designed to give you a clear, practical framework for building a stronger, more resilient body. Led by performance coach Mario Rios, this workshop breaks down the essential pillars of long-term physical performance: strength, balance, nutrition, recovery, mobility, injury prevention, and longevity.

Rather than focusing on trends or quick fixes, The Performance Blueprint teaches the fundamental principles that support sustainable health and performance at any stage of life. Participants will learn how these elements work together to improve strength, move more efficiently, reduce the risk of injury, and support long-term vitality.

This is an interactive workshop that combines instruction with hands-on practice. Throughout the day, Mario will guide participants through practical exercises, movement assessments, and simple protocols that can be immediately applied to everyday training and lifestyle habits.

Whether you are an athlete, a regular exerciser, or someone looking to move and feel better for the long term, The Performance Blueprint will provide the knowledge and tools to build a smarter, more balanced approach to your health and performance.

Meet your instructor

Mario Rios is a surf performance coach with more than 26 years of experience in physical training, health, and high-performance sport. He has worked with both elite athletes and developing competitors, helping them build strength, resilience, and longevity.

Mario has served eight times as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Costa Rica National Surf Team (Open and Junior divisions), supporting athletes preparing for international competition. He is also the founder of Health Excel, the official training center of the Costa Rica National Surf Team.

Throughout his career, Mario has coached many of Costa Rica’s top professional surfers as well as international athletes. His approach focuses on developing well-rounded physical capacity through strength, mobility, recovery, and injury prevention.

Mario also served as President of the Costa Rica Surf Federation for four years. He holds multiple certifications in strength and performance systems, including StrongFirst (SFG, SFE, SFB), C.H.E.K Institute, Metabolic Typing®, Tacfit, Circular Strength Training, and ACSM. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, sustainable training practices, and long-term athletic health.
