  • All workshops take place in Playa Flamingo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Specific dates, times, and venue details are announced for each event on our website and social media. We run regular ongoing workshops as well as special guest instructor sessions with world-class black belts.

  • Yes! There is plenty of flexibility in the schedule to allow time to enjoy Costa Rica with others you are traveling with. The workshop rate covers the hotel room with occupancy up to 4 people. Only one daily breakfast is included, but breakfast for additional people can be added on at check-in using Vector’s exclusive rate.

  • Our workshops welcome practitioners of all experience levels—from complete beginners to advanced competitors.Everyone is encouraged to train, learn, and grow in a supportive environment.

  • For gi classes: Bring your own gi (kimono) and belt. For no-gi sessions: Rash guard, shorts or spats, and athletic tape if needed. Bring multiple to reduce the laundry burden.

Essentials for all: A reusable water bottle, flip-flops/sandals for off-mat areas, towel, and personal hygiene items (shower kit, etc.). We supply high-quality mats, training equipment, and a clean, safe training space.

  • Registration is simple and secure through our website. Payment is handled via OnvoPay, which support credit or debit card payments. A non-refundable initial deposit is required to reserve your spot—full payment is due 60 days before the event date.

  • We know travel plans can change. Deposits are non-refundable, but you can transfer the deposit amount as credit toward a future workshop (subject to availability).

If you have paid in full, you can receive a 50% refund if cancelled 60+ days in advance of the workshop, or can apply the full amount towards a future workshop.

  • Instruction is primarily in English, with live translation to Spanish available as needed. This ensures clear communication for both international visitors and local Costa Rican participants.

  • At a Vector workshop, you will level up on a specific skill or technique, not just try out a variety of random moves. You will return to your home mats with a noticeable new edge. We blend elite-level Jiu-Jitsu instruction with authentic Costa Rican "Pura Vida" vibes. Expect technical precision, practical applications, and a welcoming community atmosphere—all while training steps from stunning beaches and incredible nature.

  • Workshops range from fundamentals-focused (lower intensity, emphasis on technique) to more dynamic sessions with drilling and light rolling. We prioritize safety and progression over exhaustion. You train at your own pace—we encourage listening to your body, taking breaks, and asking for modifications. Beginners and those returning from breaks do great here.

  • The closest international airport is Liberia (LIR – Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport), about 1–1.5 hours away by car. Shuttle service from the airport to Vector’s partner hotels is provided as part of the workshop registration. Some attendees fly into Costa Rica’s other international airport, San José (SJO), and drive or shuttle (around 4–5 hours) to Playa Flamingo.

  • Workshops are generally open to adults 18+. Minors (under 18) may attend with a parent/guardian present and prior approval. Some events are family-friendly or offer youth sessions—check the event description. All participants must follow our safety and etiquette guidelines.

  • We strongly recommend travel and medical insurance that covers adventure activities and sports. While we maintain a safe training environment with proper hygiene and first-aid on site, accidents can happen in any physical activity. Costa Rica has good medical facilities nearby, but insurance provides peace of mind.

  • Most multi-day workshops include dedicated open mat or rolling sessions so you can apply what you’ve learned. We keep it friendly and controlled, with emphasis on technique over competition. Partners are matched by size/skill when possible for the best experience.
